Sudan, a country full of talent and numerous universities, faculties and institutes, however, has remained challenging for us due to political unrest. The massive force majeure has not been favourable to our services – stalling the process of verifications. In the period from October to January, we have had various challenges, yet we had a successful journey, which resulted in obtaining verification for more than 11,000 applications — generation of PSV reports for all those applicants.

The Global Pandemic has resulted in a double whammy across the globe, with increased demand for healthcare professionals and reduced availability. Especially impacted were countries with a large proportion of expatriate healthcare professionals. 2021 saw healthcare migration return to pre-covid levels, with twice as many nurses migrating compared to 2020.

Countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic depend on foreign-born workers in the critical sector of healthcare services. In the United Kingdom and the United States, 29% and 25% of doctors are foreign-trained. The growing demand for medical professionals and the limited pool of available talent continues to challenge the healthcare system of these countries.

Severe nurse shortage is expected to continue and peak within the decade

• One out of six of the world’s nurses are expected to retire in the next ten years, meaning that 4.7 million new nurses will have to be educated and employed just to replace those who retire*.
• There has been a growing demand for international nurses, mainly due to an ageing nursing workforce, reduced domestic supply, insufficient nursing training capacity,  focused national policy on international recruitment as a “solution”, better earnings and career prospects from the source country.

In the context of increased demand and constrained supply, there has been a 5% increase in the percentage of fraudulent documents presented. There has been an 11% year-on-year increase in the number of misrepresented employment documents shared for verification purposes, while there has been a decline in the number of misrepresented education credentials.

This regulatory authority is quite strict about maintaining the highest standards of healthcare services and protecting its community to safeguard against the numerous risks of fraud and malpractice. Steps to apply for DOH Abu Dhabi Primary source verification (PSV) process

1. Know your healthcare domain

2. Visit the official page for verification application

3. Proper segmentation of PSV application

The portal has been designed to meet the requirements of DOH Abu Dhabi by DataFlow. This link will take you to the respective web pages one after the other. Click on  ‘Apply Now’ option and enter the registration domain first.

4.  Registration

On the homepage, click on “New user” select applicant if you are applying for yourself, or Facility if you are applying for our own staff. Create a username and generate a password. if you are an applicant, you will also need to create a DOH unique identification number (UIN), if you don’t have one yet. The link to generate a UIN is available  on the same page.  A verification email will be sent to your ID with an activation link, once you click on that link, you will be recognized as a genuine applicant. Note down the generated UIN as you will need it to check the status of your application verification. If you are an existing user, simply enter your email, password and UIN to login.

5. Follow the steps

Once you enter the registration domain, you must follow the step-by-step process. When you complete each step, the webpage will redirect to a new page of the DataFlow portal for DOH Abu Dhabi.

Enter the specific information and documents as guided on the webpage. Ensure all your scanned copies of employment proofs, experience certificates, health license, renewal copies, educational qualification, etc., are clear and in the correct format and are aligned with the regulations. You will be automatically redirected to the payment gateway once you submit your application.

6. Check your status

A case registration number gets generated and sent to your email ID. Use it to log in to https://www.dataflowstatus.com/  to check the current status of your PSV application and download your report once ready.

If you don’t already have an account with DataFlow, you will need to create a username and password. Existing users can access the portal using their usernames and passwords. Add your personal, education, employment and health license details before uploading your documents. Once you have reviewed your application, move onto payment. It’s as easy as that!

Upon receipt of payment, your application will be verified within 25 working days in most cases. Be careful to complete the process accurately and carefully, or this may lead to delays.

Once your PSV application is completed, DataFlow will share the final report with OMSB, and you will be contacted directly by OMSB regarding your application.

What documents do you need?

To complete the PSV process, applicants will need to have the following documents:

1. Signed Letter of Authorisation –
2. Copy of your valid passport or identity card
3. Copy of name change certificates, such as marriage certificate, affidavit or any other legal documents
4. Copy of your original qualification certificate
5. Copy of mark sheets for the qualification, where applicable
6. Copy of back page of the academic degree for applicants who obtained their degrees in Afghanistan, India, Egypt or Pakistan
7. Copy of any proof of employment documents
8. Copy of your health license or registration certificate issued in your home country
