Dubai, 10th November 2016: The DataFlow Group – a leading global provider of specialised Primary Source Verification (PSV) solutions, and background screening and immigration compliance services – has partnered with the General Dental Council (GDC). Under the mutual collaboration, the DataFlow Group will assist the GDC – the organization responsible for regulating dentists and dental care professionals in the United Kingdom (UK) – in ensuring that applicant details are subject to supplementary verification prior to being accepted onto the Register.
In order to achieve this, the DataFlow Group will provide core PSV services, as well as review new applicants against CrossCheck – an extensive online worldwide database that offers comprehensive criminality, regulatory and terrorism risk coverage, in addition to specialized datasets that encompass medical staff and diploma mills. A fully-owned subsidiary of the DataFlow Group, CrossCheck today has emerged as one of the largest databases for international criminality, regulatory and medical staff risk information in the world, with over 6 million records obtained from government, court and other data sources.
Douglas Nairne, Chief Executive Officer of the DataFlow Group, commented: “By extending our PSV and CrossCheck solutions, we can help the GDC add yet another level of patient safety, affirm the integrity of the Register, as well as actively protect the communities being served by making sure dental practitioners applying to join the UK register are genuine, qualified and of good character. We are eager to commence our partnership with the GDC as we continue to collaborate with regulators around the globe to promote best industry practices and ultimately mitigate the countless risks resulting from document forgery.”
In turn, Gurvinder Soomal, Director of Registration and Operational Excellence of the GDC, said: “By implementing these extra safeguards, the GDC has introduced an enhanced layer of verification for applicants to our Register, in addition to the already robust procedures we have in place to assess applications, thereby bolstering patient and public protection. This is clearly in line with our aims as set out in ‘Patients, Professionals, Partnerships and the Public’ – our roadmap for the next five years. To this end, we look forward to a successful partnership with the DataFlow Group.”
