To guarantee effective service delivery, organizations must implement an advanced and highly accurate screening procedure at the core of the hiring process so as to ensure their people are genuine, qualified and competent. With the global forgery rate as detected by the DataFlow Group currently standing at 2.32% as of April 2016 – the need for a comprehensive and reliable verification program covering existing and potential employees is more vital than ever, especially within a critical sector such as healthcare where the physical safety and emotional wellbeing of patients can be easily compromised.

To this end, the DataFlow Group has partnered with the NHS Providers to promote the necessary requirement for Primary Source Verification (PSV) – particularly within the United Kingdom. This engagement culminates in the publication of a white paper on the risk of document forgery in healthcare authored by the DataFlow Group, as well as participation in the upcoming NHS Providers Annual Conference and Exhibition on 29 and 30 November in Birmingham.

The theme of the event for this year is ‘Fighting Fit’ based on the premise that the NHS at its absolute best is a model of how healthcare can be delivered efficiently and effectively to improve the lives of patients, service users and general public. To address this within the event, a series of four programme topics – Delivering Capability, Delivery, Relationships and Transformation – has been developed to explore in further detail key issues pertaining to the various aspects of healthcare. The DataFlow Group has chosen the ‘Delivery’ programme strand in which to facilitate a panel workshop as it explores the strategies and tools being used to run more efficient organizations, coordinate and integrate services, and enhance the value and experience of patient care.

Over the course of the workshop, the DataFlow Group will highlight the implications of document fraud and dishonest individuals on an establishment – with an emphasis on healthcare institutions. Furthermore, the DataFlow Group will discuss the essential role of screening applicant documents from their original issuing source, promoting best practices within the field of screening, in addition to the importance of complementing the verification process by crosschecking candidates against worldwide fraud, criminality and malpractice datasets.

The mutual partnership also results in the publication of a white paper collaboration on the risk of document forgery in healthcare authored by the DataFlow Group in association with the NHS Providers. The white paper – titled ‘Document Forgery in Healthcare: The Integral Role of Primary Source Verification as a Solution’ – addresses the growing trend of credential fraud, prevalent challenges and associated risks, while highlighting the key role of screening applicant documents from their original issuing source and promoting the necessary requirement for PSV to mitigate the issue – with an special emphasis on healthcare in the United Kingdom.
