African countries in North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa are significant contributors of nurses to employers in the Middle East. In addition to its office in Egypt, the DataFlow Group has a network of partners in other parts of Africa to reach out to issuing authorities for verifications.
The focus is now on getting maximum IA’s from Africa to sign up on DigiFlow.net, the online verification platform from the DataFlow Group, and to have closer ties with all the major high-volume issuing authorities in Africa.
Nigeria
A senior leadership onsite was organized in June 2022 to visit several Issuing Authorities in Nigeria.
We met with senior leaders from important issuing authorities like the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Federal Medical Centre, National Hospital and Asokoro District Hospital in Abuja Nigeria.
Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) is one of the most critical high-volume issuing authorities for the DataFlow Group for nurses traveling from Africa to different parts of the Middle East seeking overseas employment.
Identifying the need to improve relationships and establish seamless verification processes, DataFlow’s Issuing Authorities Relationship team approached NMCN’s senior leadership and engaged in several rounds of meaningful discussions.
These discussions resulted in an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between NMCN and Apurva Tandon, Global Director of Operations, on behalf of the DataFlow Group on 8th June 2022 at the NMCN HQ in Abuja, Nigeria, at a formal event in the presence of the NMCN Governing Council.
Recently, NMCN went online for all their processes, including verifications for their ex-Alumni
With the MOU in place with the DataFlow Group, Dataflow Group has been included as a special partner in the online process for the alumni to select while applying for verifications online.
Once the application is completed online, the verification confirmation is shared with DataFlow Group directly by NMCN, an exception process customized only for DataFlow Group.
Zimbabwe
As part of a decision at the political level to curtail the exodus of trained nurses from Zimbabwe, the Nursing Council of Zimbabwe had put restrictions on providing verifications for nurses to all international requesters. A large number of verification requests of applicants from the DataFlow Group clients were stuck with the Nursing Council of Zimbabwe.
A concerted effort was launched to meet the senior leadership within the issuing authority to discuss the plight of applicants stuck in different parts of the world and on the verge of losing their jobs. As a result of these efforts, the senior leadership within the IA agreed to release verifications to DataFlow Group as a special exception.
Sudan
Many critical and high-volume issuing authorities from Sudan have been onboarded on the DigiFlow.net online verification platform reducing the turnaround from these issuing authorities drastically.
Among these are the Sudan Medical Council and The Sudan National Council for Medical and Health Professionals, apart from a number of other universities and colleges. These IAs have shared excellent feedback that DigiFlow.net has reduced their time for verifying checks by more than 50%.
Many other issuing authorities are being reached out for onboarding on the DigiFlow.net online platform.
