Climate Calls
We strive towards creating a sustainable environment through committed actions that positively impact the planet. With our global presence and engaging leadership we make a large impact
Donation of 300 Saplings
In the month of September 2019, we launched our Global Environmental Campaign, ‘Climate Calls’ – our first initiative towards protecting the environment, where we announced our goal of planting 10,000 saplings by the end of this fiscal year. We are pleased to share that with the continuous efforts of our dedicated team and collaboration and partnerships with various non-governmental organisations and communities, we have exceeded our target. To date, we have donated a total of 25,000 saplings across India and the Philippines.
Last year, from October onwards, we consciously reduced the usage and consumption of paper and plastic in all locations. This global initiative would result in a reduction of about 1077 kilograms of paper and plastic products for the whole year.
As we have seen very encouraging results, we will continue to embark on our eco-friendly journey in the coming fiscal year. We encourage all of you to share your ideas on how we can continue to contribute to our cause of restoring Mother Earth. Together we can achieve more!
Tree Planting Activity
Complementing our Mission to ‘Protect Communities’, the DataFlow Group undertook its first Tree Planting activity on the 7th May 2019 at Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa City, Manila.
A collaboration with Miss Philippines Earth 2019 Chrysanthemum, Maricres Castro and the head of Environmental Sanitation Center, Lorna Misa, the event kicked off with a brief speech on the Tree Planting activity, which was followed by the planting of thirty trees. Joined by the leadership team and the volunteers of DataFlow Group, we supported this initiative with the aim of preserving the environment and combating global warming.
Social Initiatives
We support the underprivileged and those impacted by natural calamities to ensure they regain their strength and progress towards a better future. We believe crisis bring people together, and therefore, every opportunity that allows us to connect with the larger community is never missed by us.
Fundraising events
Project Happy Feet
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi
In line with our corporate mission of protecting communities, the Manila team successfully implemented a CSR initiative – the ‘Happy Feet Project’ in 2019, in one of the rural and impoverished areas of Laguna, Sitio Cataquiz in San Pedro City (Philippines). The team initiated the fundraising activity in September 2019 with the primary objective of raising money to buy slippers for the children of the community. Several fun activities were held in the office to collect enough funds to buy slippers for child beneficiaries. There were auctions, local delicacies sold, garage sales on-site and even personal massage belts were rented out. Within three months, the team exceeded the target budget significantly and donated slippers to more than fifty children and with the excess funds collected bought groceries and toys during the program.
The Manila office has always made sure that the office life is fun, and there is a work-life balance and all activities inculcate a culture of giving. The corporate mission of protecting communities is not only reflected in our daily work, but also in our CSR initiatives and with the Happy Feet Project and our engaging workforce we were able to further strengthen our mission.
Taal Volcano Eruption
On the 12th January 2020, the Philippines was jolted by the catastrophic event of the Taal Volcano erupting in the Batangas province, leading to the enormous destruction of crops, animals and houses. The massive plume of ash and steam spewing miles into the sky and the red-hot lava, prompted the evacuation of thousands of people. Around 44,000 people from Batangas province have sought shelter in the 217 temporary evacuation centers that have been set up by the authorities. The Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) raised the alert level for Taal Volcano to Level 4 from Level 1 – indicating that a hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days.
In response to the event, the DataFlow Group team in Manila is working hand in hand with the Rotary Club of Paranaque South to collect donations, both in cash and kind to support the victims of this tragedy. The damage caused by the fatal and cataclysmic eruption is irreversible.
Tindog Catanduanes
On an average, the Philippines gets hit by 20 typhoons per year. In the recent list compiled by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Philippines was ranked as the second most country in the world that gets hit by tropical cyclones.
In 2020, Philippines was devastated by two strong typhoons Rolly and Quinta in October and November. Super typhoon Rolly, was labelled as the world’s most powerful tropical cyclone in 2020. The typhoon Quinta caused widespread damage, destroyed crops, left people missing and injured. Apart from the financial loss, the psychological impact was immeasurable. Despite the staggering impact from typhoons that ravaged across the large part of Luzon, the world has seen how the Filipinos’ coping strategies emerged amidst these disasters.
We at DataFlow, joined hands with our Filipinos’ in combating the challenges and loss caused by these catastrophic events. Our Manila team supported the TINDOG CATANDUANES, an initiative run by a non-government organisation to provide food and shelter to those who have suffered. We called for monetary and in kind donations to support the organisation which included organising food packs and serving other needs of the people.
Proud of our tenacious team who was able to help people who were deeply consumed by the natural calamity!
